The Power of Cultural Wisdom in Self-Love (France Edition)

I am enrolled in Higher Education, getting my Master’s in Global Health Leadership with an emphasis on Global Mental Health. While offering advice on Reddit’s R/Mentalhealth subgroup, the question was posed: Can you heal without Therapy? My brain begins to run a thousand miles because I never thought of Therapy as the end goal in one’s healing journey but as a step towards optimal holistic health.

I am not biased against Therapy being the end goal for people who can afford multiple sessions. If I grew up in a home or community that made Therapy a way of life, it most certainly would continue into my adulthood stage of development. On the other hand, if one’s religious upbringing took precedence and made faith the healing elixir, I can see how biases against talk therapy could form.

Here is my response to the Reddit Post of r/mentalhealth: Can you heal without Therapy?

“It all depends on what you classify as Therapy. Suppose you prefer to talk Therapy (sitting in front of a therapist across from you) or have casual conversations with friends, online communities, and co-workers. In that case, certain situations call for a less non-biased approach. I have personally gone to Therapy myself this year for the first time (age 43) to aid in my healing journey, and it was ok but not for me. Healing
